Annual savings = power difference × hours × 365 ÷ 1000 × price. Net cost = new price minus what you get for the old unit. If the payback period is longer than the new appliance's expected life, the upgrade does not save money on electricity alone. Example: with the default values, annual savings comes to $39.42.
